Charlottetown Yacht Club Hosts “Wind Wave Waterfront Sail-A-Bration”

The Charlottetown Yacht Club is hosting the “Wind Wave Waterfront Sail-A-Bration” which will run Sunday July 10, 2016 to Sunday July 17, 2016 with numerous on water demonstrations Sunday to Wednesday, from Rowing to Kite sailing, dory building to ending the week with the 31 st Annual Charlottetown Race Week and then the Sail East Regatta.

Charlottetown Race Week 2016 will host the J29 – North American Championships, J70 -Atlantic Canada Championships, J24 – National Championships, with Farr 30, A, B,C and White Sails Fleets. Web site is http://www.cyc.pe.ca/charlottetown-race-week.html

Races will be run in the Hillsborogh Bay.

And Andreas Josenhans & Co Race official has agreed to come back in 2016.

Sail East – Saturday July 16 – Sunday 17, 2016
The largest event held is the Sail East regatta which is open to any sailor over the age of 7 in the Optimist Dinghy, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, 420, 29er, Laser and 2.4m classes and this event is to be held at the Charlottetown Yacht Club in 2016. Sail East is part of Sail Canada’s regional championships which take place annually in Western, Atlantic and Central regions of Canada.

The 2016 Sail East event being held at the Charlottetown Yacht Club is expected to host between 100 and 200 young sailors who will be vying for the Eastern Canadian Club, 420 Regional Championship, and the Sail Canada U17 Eastern Championship among others.

Sail East will races will be run the Charlottetown Harbor in front of the scenic Victoria Park.

Bayfield Marine Turns 40 with Big April Events

Ron and Pat Reder started out in October 1984 across the road from where they are right now on the Bayfield River in Bayfield ON. The store front was about 10 x 20 and the rest of that side of the building was a stock room, wood finishing room, then behind that was more back stock and the lunchroom. Expanding every few years for the store front, then moving over to this new building five years ago, this year with Adam, Shelley, and Holly are carrying on the business.
