Rozalia Project

Brock Callen and Jeff Brock of the Northbound Kite Mission for Rozalia Project are pleased to announce the Antigua Kite Mission presented by the Lift Project and hosted by Sunsail Yacht Charters. Building on the extraordinary success of their last mission in New England, Brock Callen, Jeff Brock and Rachael Miller, Co-Founder and Director of Rozalia Project for a Clean Ocean are set to travel to the Caribbean Island of Antigua to participate in their second mission. The team is excited to work with students from the Island Academy School. Together they will participate in a beach cleanup, and then head back to the school for interactive programs about marine debris, the responsibility of being environmentally responsible and the exciting kite mission. Following the programs with Island Academy School, Callen and Brock will shift into prep mode getting ready for their open water foiling kiteboard crossing from Antigua to St. Martin in excess of 100 nautical miles.

Rozalia Project’s Rachael Miller says, “Brock and Jeff are extraordinary athletes who are using their skills and stamina to not just highlight the problem of trash in our ocean and on our shores, but take action. They are excellent role models for kids of all ages bringing their experiences of long distance kiting to inspire kids to take care of this ocean we need to keep clean and healthy. The programs we are running together are engaging, fun and most importantly make a difference in the lives of the students.”

The aim of the project is to motivate kids to appreciate, explore and enjoy the island’s best local asset, the ocean, through progressive initiatives focused on teamwork and a greater respect for the environment. Sunsail Marketing Manager, Brittany Weatherby say’s “It is our duty to ensure the islands we frequent and enjoy so much are supported and their youth are raised with a fun and positive outlook on their important roles as stewards of the ocean. We are proud to take part in this mission with both the Rozalia Project and the Lift Project.” To achieve this, the foundation will help provide resources and opportunities for local children to make the ocean their playground and hopefully develop a life-long relationship so they have their own authentic reason to fight for and protect it.
